THE CANADIAN. WAY. GENERAL DEBS FIGHTING. LONDON, June 29. > The Cologne newspaper "Yolks : . Zeitung," describing the Canadians' fight at Ypres during the German attack a fow weeks ago, says:—"Many preferred to be killed rather than surrender. Little groups resisted desperately. A Canadian general was surrounded, but he drew his sword and refused to surrender. He cut down a German sergeant, whereupon an infantryman bayoneted the general, who was still fighting like a madman."'
