VIOLENT BOMBARDMENT IN MILANCOURT SECTOR.
GERMAN INFANTRY ATTACK AT PEPPER HILL FAILS.
(Received 11.31 a.m.) PARIS, March 20. An official communique states that the Germans westward of the Meuse violently bombarded the region southward of Mclancourt. A small German attack eastward of the Meuse against Poivre Hill completely failed. There has been an intermittent bombardment in the region of Vaux. In the Woevre the night was calm, except for a lively cannonade at Lcs Epargcs.
