JUDGE KENNY DEAD.
IBy Telegraph—l'rcss Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The death is announced of Mr. Harry Eyre Kenny, late district judge. Ex-judge Kenny was born in Montreal, Canada, and was a eon of Hon. Colonel W. 11. Kenny. He emigrated to Ne".v Zealand in 1547, waa educated at St. John's College, Auckland, articled to the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Auckland, was subsequently Becretary to Sir G. Arney,' then practised for two years in Auckland, waa registrar a I New Plymouth in lSfiT; appointed resident magistrate in 1860, and district judge in' Taranaki, Patea, and Wanganui in 1870, Hawke'e Bay and Poverty Bay in 1879 (resigned 18S2) ; was appointed magistrate at Wcstport ISOO, Thames 1893, Wellington 1897; district judge at Wanpanui, West Coast and Wairarapa IS9B. West Coast (South Island) 1904, resigned 1905; stipendiary. He waa magistrate, district land registrar, and captain of militia when he retired.
