RAILWAY SERVANTS' WAGES.
AUCKLAND BRANCH RESOLUTIONS. The proposals of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants for a general increase in wages to meet the higher cost of living, were considered by about 250 members of the Auckland branch at a meeting held on Saturday. After a discussion the meeting adopted the following resolution: —" That this meeting of the Auckland branch of the A.S-R.S. affirms its loyalty to the main executive, and pledges itself to support any action that the controlling body deem advisable to counteract the apathy and indifference the Government has shown to our justifiable demand for a living wage; and, further, we consider a demand for not less than one shilling per day a reasonable one.
