OBITUARY.
(By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, December 25. The Earl of Cranbrook is dead, aged 45. The Earl of Cranbrook was the third holder of the title, having succeeded his father in 1911. As Viscount Cranbrook he was private secretary to Viscount Hampden, Governor-General of New South Wales, from 1895 to 1897. Ho married, in 1899, the youngest daughter of the Earl of Glasgow, whose death was announced on December 13. One of hia sons, the Hon. C. Gathornc-Hardy, was aide-de-camp to Lord Plunkct, a former Governor of New Zealand.
