ITALY'S STEADY ADVANCE ON ISONZO.
LAST OBSTACLES BEFORE TOLMINO AND GORZ BEJNG SURMOUNTED. - AUSTRIANS STRONGLY ENTRENCHED IN THE MOUNTAINS. v (Times and Sydney Sun Service*.) « (Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 23. The "Times" correspondent with the Italian headquarters says that the last obstacles to the conquest of Tolmino and Gorz arc being persistently surmounted. The torrential rains have ceased, and the enemy's defensive is weakening. The difficulties in the Tyrol are enormous. When "the enemy was dislodged from a seemingly invincible first position, he retired to others even more formidable. The Austrians arc solidly entrenched in heavily armoured cement trenches. The mountains dominating the highways have become fortrcsse surrounded by hedges of thick wire, syds deep, highly charged with electricity, with powerful mines everywhere. The snow prevents surprise attacks. Italian volbntccrs advance and destroy the mines and entanglements, few escaping alive. Despite their heroism, the advance is most difficult.
