SHIELD COMPETITION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON*, thia day. The Waikato Frontiersmen held their annual shooting competition for the Frontiersmen , * Shield at Captain MacGregor'e range, Gordonton, on Saturday, The shoot wa* not concluded, owing to the failiag light. Five men each from the D Squadron (Hamilton) and C Squadron (Ngaruawahia) have yet to fire over a 700 yds range. Saturday's scores were as under: — D Squadron. — Kibblewhitc, 300 yds 30, 500 yds 30, 700 yds 23; Captain MaeGregor, 22, 23 —"; D. Miseen, 26, 31, —: Lieut. Eisdale, 23, 27, —; S. Soffe. 27, 20, 26; 0. Rutherford. 22 32 30; J. Riddell 27, 28 —; H. Hale, 22, 32, 20; I. MacOrcgor, 22, 20, —; E. Tisch' 20, 30, 13. Totals: 200, 2flo, 121. At 700 yds, Tisch (13) and H. Wil son (15) did not shoot out.
