KILLED HIS FATHER.
GRIFFITHS SENT TO PRISON. GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER. SYDNEY, September 3. John Griffiths has been found guilty of manslaughter in connection with tha death of his father, and has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment, with hard labour. Griffiths was tried on a charge of murdering his father. The latter was found at his home at Pyrmcyit, with several fingers severed, and with his head split open. A sword was lying beside the body. The police gave evidence to the effect that as a result of trouble between the father and the mother, the son cautioned the father, who again insulted the mother. The son, seizing a sword which his father had obtained in the Boxer war, inflicted fatal injuries on the father.
