LATE BISHOP GRIMES.

— • I THE BURIAL SERVICE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. ' The burial service on the late Bishop Grimes took place this morning in the Cathedral. Requiem mass was sung by Bishop Cleary, assisted by Dean Hills. There was a large gathering, the build-; ing being crowded. Among those present were representatives of his Excellency the Governor, public bodies and institutes. Archbishop O'Shea pronounced a panegyric. He briefly expressed the thanks of the Catholic clergy and laity for the land messages of sympathy from all creeds and classes in the Dominion, and thanked the Government, and his Excellency the Governor in particular. After referring to the late Bishop's career, Archbishop O'Shea said that tho departed prelate had great love for the Dominion, for which he always predicted a great future.
