TONGAN HURRICANE.

THE VAVAU PLANTATIONS DAMAGED. PUT BACK A YEAR. (Received 10.45 ajn.) SUVA, this day., The steamer Atua, which arrived from Tonga to-day, reports that the hurricane at Vavau, previously reported by wireless, lasted for two days, from March 17 to 19. It was at its height on Friday morning. Considerable damage was done to plantations, and it is estimated that the hurricane has put them back a year. No casualties arc reported, but a few houses were unroofed. The steamer Atua was held up for two days. It is believed Haapai and Nukualofa escaped.
