SANK IN MID-OCEAN.
_____ AMERICAN STEAMER LOST. BRITISH SHIP TO RESCUE. (Received 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, March 24. The American steamer Denver, a vessel of 4,549 tons, when returning to New York from Bremerhaven, Germany, sank in mid-ocean in the Atlantic. The British transport steamer Manhattan, of 8,000 tons, rescued 71 of the crew of the Denver.
