SIGNIFICANT SIGNS FROM ITALY.
MEN RECEIVE ACTIVE SERVICE BADGES.
AUSTRIAN TROOPS CONCENTRATING ON THE LITTORAL. (Revcived 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. Reports from Romo state that identification badges, which are carried only when the men are on active service, have been distributed to the soldiers. In some quarters this is regarded as highly significant of Italy's readiness for any eventuality. Twenty submarines have been udded to the Navy in the last six months. There arc now :100 aeroplanes and 20 iliripililes. Telegrams received in Venice from Trieste state that a proclamation asks the people to rally round the Kinperor. The concentration of troops on the Austrian shores of the Adriatic is proceeding apace. There will shortly be 40,000 men in Trieste, including well-equipped (Germans. Air able-bodied men up to 52 years of ago have been summoned to the colours.
