Our correspondent at Dunedin wires that the vacant Crown Solicitorship there has been conferred on Mr. W. C. MacGregor. Captain B. M. Aldwell, who has been in command of the s.s. Wahine on the W«llington-Lyttelton ferry eervice, has been appointed to the bridge of the B.a. Marama. Mr. W. E. Haeelden, SJM., chairman of the North Island Railway Appeal Board, left Auckland, with the other members of the Board last night for Wang&nui. (Mr. F. L. Ayeoii, Director of Fisheries in the Dominion, is at present superintending the taking of quinnat-saknon ova from the Upper Waitaki River in South Canterbury. Mr. F. A. Cullen, receiver of land revenues at Dunedin, has been promoted to a similar position in the Auckland 6ffice. Mr. George Cruickehank, S.M., of Southland, who has been absent for close upon a year with* Mrs. Cruickshank on a trip to the Old Country, has arrived in Wellington. Mr. Cruiek&hank will resume duty at Invercargill early in April.
