m I , EXTENSION OF SCHOOLS. i RESIGNATIONS RECEIVED. I The regular meeting of tbe Board of Education was attended to-dsy by Messrs. G. J. Garland (chairman), A. K. Harris), J. D. McKeuzle, W. Auld, G. B. Banks, G. W. Murray, and C. T. Barrluall. An application for a new school at Kohimaraiua was considered and declined. i Arrangements were made preparatory to steps being taken to have enlargements made at New Lynn, Te Papa, Onehunga and I'oDsonby among the suburban schools. The necessary grants will be applied for in doe course. At tbe suggestion of the chairman it was resolved that the Inspector be instructed to advise as to the suitability of providing for a separate infant school at Onehunga. Adlington, assistant, Paeroa District High School. MANUAL TRAINING BRANCH. On the recommendation of the Technical and Manual Training Committee, Mr. F. L. N. Tuck was reappointed Chief Instructor iv the electrical department at the Technical College. Mr. A. T. Smith was appointed, local superintendent at Tc Aroha, and the following instructors:—Mr. J. Kelly (English and arithmetic), Mr. A. J. Burrows (shorthand), and Mr. T. Bezer (bookkeeping and commercial correspondence). It was decided that a Manual Training School be erected at Kingsland as soon, as funds from the Government were available ample provision to be made for all New Lynn pupils. APPOINTMENTS. It was decided that the applications for the Mokai, Kaitangiweka, and Te Matai schools be declined. The Inspector was instructed to report as to the advisableness of closing the Limestone Island school, and making arrangements for the conveyance of children by ferry to the Onerahl school. •
