GERMANY DISTRESSED AT LOSS OF DRESDEN
HUMILIATED BY THE HOISTING OF THE WHITE FLAG.

(Received 10.3 a.m.) AMSTERDAM. March 16. Germany ts greatly distressed at the sinking of the Dresden. She and the Karlsruhe were Germany's last hope on the high seas. The Germans are humiliated at the hoisting of th- white flag on the vessel, and the Kaiser's message to Admiral yon Tirpitz describes this as the aaddest incident of the war.
HOW THE DRESDEN WAS DESTROYED.
SET ON FIRE BT HER CREW.
LONDON, .March 16. The Admiralty states that the crew set the Dresden on fire in the action off the Island of Juan Fernandez.
