SANGUINARY FIGHTING IN ALSACE.
NO QUARTER ASKED OR GIVEN. NINE HUNDRED GERMANS KILLED, 2.500 WOUNDED. GENEVA, March 15. General Deimling conducted the French operations which resulted in the capture of the Reicbackerkopf Hills, in Alsace. He employed four regiments, and the fighting was the most sanguinary that has taken place in Alsace during tbe war. The Chasseurs defended the newly-won positions with their bayonets only. No quarter was asked. Nine hundred Germans were killed, and probably 2,500 were wounded There were only a few prisoners.
