CARDEN EXPECTS TO BE THROUGH IN FORTNIGHT.. TURKS REPORT SINKING OF MINE-SWEEPERS. *v (Received 11.15 a.m.) s LONDON, March 15. Advices from Constantinople assert that • fortress sank three minesweepers, which did not succeed in clearing the outer minefields of the Dardanelles. Expert engineers are working continuously to strengthen the defences. The Vali (Governor of Smyrna) has issued a proclamation stating that the garrison will tlerend the city to tbe last drop of blood. The Paris "Matin" reports that Admiral Garden has stated that the fleet attacking the Dardanelles will hammer its way through the Strait before Easter.
