John Mdadoe, 44 years of age, was found dead iß.V'pjjni-''.' dock in the Awakino Valley, with one side of his skull blown away, and a gna lying between bis legs. He iad been working for a settler named Christiansen, and, on the morning of thr fatality '■''"' had proceeded to an ad joining property'; to get bis gun. He bam apparently stumbled on the -way back, with the'resul'fc that the gun went off on the •trigger being released. At tbe inquest, held at Maropiu, by Mr. T. Webb, Cor- ' ncr, evidence wag given relative to tlie wound inflicted, and a verdict was re; turned that deceased's death was dne to a gunshot wound, effected by his own .'■-' gun- '
