The Hon. Jas. Allen (Minister of Defence and Education) arrived by the express from Wellington yesterday afternoon, accompanied by his private secretary (Mr. F. G. Matthews). The Minister met his daughter (Miss D. L. Allen), who arrived from England by the Rotorua, and afterwards he visited the internment camp at Motuihi. This afternoon he called at the forts at Devonport. The party return to Wellington by to-night's express. While in Auckland the Minister is staying at the Grand Hotel.
