CHANGES AXD PROMOTIONS. Promotions amd changes in the staff of the Poet and Telegraph Department have oeen notified as under:— Mr. C. J. Norton, postmaster, Aahburton, and 3lr. J. A. Algie, postmaster, Taihape, who is with the Samoam Relief Farce, are retiring from the Service. Mr. R. E. Lechner, postmaster, Geraldine, is promoted to the position of i master, Reef ton. Mr. D. Macdonald, postmaster Featherston, is appointed postmaster at Waipukurau. ilir. G. W. Woods, postmaster. Paeroa, is appointed postmaster at Taumarunui. Mr. B. T. Missen, senior clerk and telegraphist, Ashburton, fe appointed postmaster at Taihape.
Mr. W. F. Kennedy, postmaster, Patea, is appointed postmaster at Waihi.
Mr. D. Mulvey, telegraphist, Timaru, to be postmaster, Tapanui.
Mr. S. J. Coad, clerk, Auckland, to be senior mail clerk, Gisborne.
Mr. W. J. Webster, clerk, Napier, to be senior mail clerk, Timaru.
Mr. S. T. Seward, telegraphist, Wellington, to be senior clerk, Engineer's Office, Gbrietchureh.
Mr. J. N. Neville, telegraphist, Lyttel ton, to be senior counter clerk, Christchurch.
Mr. A. Dawson, telegraphist, Wellington, to be senior clerk, Telegraph Engineer's Office, Dunedin.
I The Inspector of Telegraph Offices (Mr. H. W. Harrington), who is at present I acting as deputy chief censor, is being reIplaced temporarily by Mr. C. H. M. Hawk, and he in tumn is being replaced by Mr. H. P. de K. Wyatt.
