NEW WORLD'S RECORD: KAHANAMOKU DOES 50 YARDS IN 22 3-5 SECONDS. A swimming gala took place at Calliope Dock, Devouport, on Saturday, under the auspices of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. The feature of the carnival was tbe appearance of the Hawaiian champion Duke Kahanamoku and but travelling associate G. Cunha, also from Hawaii.
