MINISTER'S LIFE AMBITION.
FINANCING THE SCHEME. (Received 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Mr Hall (the Attorney-General) stated that his bread scheme had been his ambition since childhood. His political faith would bci n vain if it worked unsuccessfully, and he would admit himself down and out. Considerate treatment would be given to all men displaced and those having to get out. The Government could do so on sounder and better conditions than had been given by private enterprise in the past. He estimated that the cost of buying businesses in the metropolitan area would be under £500,000. Once this start was secured the Government could out of the profits extend to the larger cities and towns outside the metropolis.
