FATALITY AT WAIHEKE.

MR F. J. MOORS. DIES WHILE BATHING. The very many friends of Mr. Frederick James Moore, of Moore Avenue, Paroell, will learn with deep regret of the sudden death of that gentleman this morning while bathing at Waihekc. Mr. Moore owned Roes Trevor cottage, in a bay not far from Cowee. He went day to spend the week-end, and this morning went for a bathe with a youth named Sydney Weir. The latter returned ashore for some purpose, and on looking round eiw Mr.-Moore's body floating. Xo time was lost in bringing the body ashore, «nd for an hour attempt* were made af-resuecitation, but without avail. There eeetae little reason to doubt that the cauec of death was heart dieeaee, ac Mr. Moore wae a eplendid swimmer, , and had not gone beyond <waiet-deep when death occurred. Mr Moore was 58 years of age, having been born in County Tyrone, Ireland. He was an enthusiastic member of the Celtic Society. Mr Moqrc came to New Zealand 36 years ago. He leaves a widow, four daughters, and one son. The latter, Mr Victor George Moore, is with the N.Z. Forces in Egypt. One daughter is married to Mr W. H. YVoollame, to whom the news of the sad occurrence was telephoned. The body wan brought up in Mr- Ineley's launch, arriving at Auckland shortly after 2 p.m. An inquest was held at deceased's residence, Parnell; later in the afternoon. ;
