MT. EDEN LOAN PROPOSALS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Replying to your correspondent "Pay Rater," I do not know what he means by his reference to £100 debentures sold at £85 5/. Will he please furnish particulars and the name of his informant? I speak with authority when I say that £91 10/ is the lowest price accepted by the Council for their 41 debentures, thus raising the coet of the loan to 5 per cent., as stated by mc in my first letter. In answer to his insinuation that the present proposed loan, though issued at 5 per cent., may be .-old at a discount, it is sufficient to say that we have had the first portion of" the loan, viz.. £40,000. which is all we propose to -expend in the meantime, offered to us at 5 per cent, par, and the offer is still available if the loan is authorised.—l am, etc, C. HUDSON. Mr. Eden, March 12, 1915.
