LOST SADDLES AND HORSES.
WENT MISSING IN THE STRIKE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. T>uring the strike of the waterside workers and others in Auckland last year horses and equipment were lent ,by farmers for the. use of the special coustables. Many of the animals ant] roucli of the saddlery has been lost sight of. and claims have been rendered by the original owners to the Hamilton branch of the Farmers' I'nion. Mr. frribble (the secretary) and Mr. J. A. Young. M.P., sa-w the Premier (Mr. W. !•'. Massey) on tlio matter. Thi' Premier said he had never been approached with thr idea of getting the Government. t«> make good the losses, and personally he would not take the respon sibility of placing the matter before the 1 House. He recommended that the men who had lost property in the way complained of should present a petition to [Parliament through their member.
