EXPLOITS OF THE GERMAN RUNAWAYS.
I ALGERIAN PORT BOMBARDED BEFORE FLIGHT. VESSELS GETTING READY FOR SEA AGAIN. LONDON, September 8. The steamer Isle of Hastings reports that on August 4 the Goehen, flying a Russian flag, appeared at Phillipville. in Algeria. Then she hoisted the German flag and fired at the shore with the object of exploding a magazine. Many shots passed over the Isle of Hastings, which was Iyinp in port, and the crew had a narrow escape. A magazine shed was destroyed, l:t Zouaves being killed and 1.5,000 rounds of ammunition blown up. A message from Constantinople says that the Goehen and Rreslau are undergoing repairs in the Gulf of Ismid, in (he Sea of Marmora, beyond the Dardanelles. German officers to the number of 150 have arrived in Turkey, via Rumania. They boarded a steamer at San Stcphano. a port on the Sea of Marmora, and their destination was kept secret.
