ADVANCE ON LEFT WING. WITHOUT SEKIOUS RESISTANCE. SUCCESSES TS THE VOSGES. (BT CABLE.—PEESS ASSOCIATION,—COPTBIGHTJ (Received 10.15 a.m.) r LONDON", Tuesday morning. The Government Official Press Bureau announces that General Joffre'3 *>lans are being steadily carried out, and that the Allies are acting on the offensive. It also confirms an official statement from the French Ministry of War at Bordeaux tbat the Oman right wing has been successfully forced back in a north-easterly direction. An official communique- issued in Paris states thai the Allies have advanced along the left wing- without-meeting- with serious resistance. In tne centre and in the Verdun district our forces alternately advanced and xc treated. The general unchanged. On the right wing, in the Vosges district, the Allies have gained several partial successes. The French Ministex for War has telegraphed to the garrison at Maubeuge, an important French fortress on the Belgian frontier, his admiration for the heroic defence that was shown during the recent attacks.
