MR. C.W. LEADBEATER'S TEACHINGS.

(To the Kditor.) Sir.—l attended the above gentleman's meeting on Sunday evening, and 'was greatly disappointel with the- eo-called-"Advantages o-f Theosophy." I really did expect to hear something "illuminating" from euch a widely-known teacher of the occult. Instead it was "confusion worse confounded." Speaking of himself, he said when in great doubt, theosophy " came to hie rescue." I much doubt the quality of euch rescue work. In my opinion it was a case of out of the frying pan into the ifirc. My study of theosophical works, specially Mrs. Besant's. convinces mc that is simply a subtle form of unbelief; that is. negation of th P fundamentals of Christianity. It is admitted by " AntiChrietian," I noticed, however, that what ■was good in tQie address was purloined from Ohtisthmity. l>l r. Leaibeater failed to acknowledge this, of course, did he give any proof for his contentions. " Raimee," " another plane," " reincarnation," etc.. were simply assumed. As a solution of problems it is a failure. We want, nowadays, religion that will solve these problems. They can only be eolved. 'I am sati£fied, "by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.—l am, etc., R. E. BOTCLE, Hon. Sec. Cliristian Evidence Society.
