GOLD TO BRING THEM HOME. U.S. NEUTRAL AND SOUND. (Received 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, August f. The armoured cruiser Tennessee sails immediately with £1.000.000 in gold to enable Americans in Europe to return home. The Government has agreed to take charge of the German Embassies in any country with which Germany is at war, provided such action does not prevent America, taking charge of the Embassies of other countries should she be requested to do so. Bankers suggest that £20,000,000 should be deposited in gold in London to facilitate trade between the Cnited States and Great Britain. The Savings Banks announce that 6P lays' notice is required before with drawals can be made. Tlie United States .has issued a formal proclamation of neutrality. A bill to ■xclude all aliens who wish to leave the L'nited States for any port in the belliirerent area, bas been introduced. The President states that the financial situation of the country is perfectly sound.
