■ 0 ATTACK TK.E FRENCH SQUADRONS. GERMAN CRUISER BOMBARDS ALGERIAN FORT. (Received 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, August 5. A German cruiser fired sixty shots at Bona, Algiers. Tbe batteries replied, and the cruiser left in the direction of Gibraltar. It is believed in Paris that she was captured by the British vessels guarding the Straits of Gibraltar. Advices from Rome state that the German Mediterranean squadron is in the neighbourhood of Messina. ♦It has been instructed to join the Austrian squadron and to attack the French fleet. t French destroyers captured two big German sailing vessels in the North Sea and took them to Dunkirk and Calnis.
