<< MOUNT EDEN. The ordinary meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council last nigh; was attended by the Mayor (Mr. O. Nicholson) and Messrs. Hudson. Grayson. Ilnnton. Potter. Melkle. Se.lbrook. Woolley. Jones. Burns. I.cc. and Yates.

Streets Committee's Report.—The committee recommended that the Engineer's proposal to effect repairs in Kensington Avenue and Richmond Street, al a cost not exceeding £30, be adopted: reported that the Engineer was attending to drainage in King's View Itoad, and was Instructed to report on cost of footpath on western side of Richmond Street, and .art track on road: reported that permits to build wood addition lo It. and W. Ilelluhy s property at Mount E.'vn tram terminus, and a wooden shed at property on Ihe Dominion Itr.ad and Ewington Avenue corner he declined, and motor a-jrage (for Dr. McNabi on Mount Pleasant Road lie granted. Cartlnjr Tenders. —Kour lenders were received for carting, and the lowest—that of I. .1. Craig and Co.—was accepted. Wilson for a permit for a shelter-shed adjoining a stable in Bantangi Bead was refused, and the Council decided to prosecute applicant for having erected the shelter without .1 permit. No Liability. —li. c. Forrester wrote, stating that he fell into a hole in the footpath of Sunnyslde Koad. and damaged his clothing, for which lie claimed compensation. As Ihe hole was not caused hy the Councils work, the Council disclaimed liability.
