ENGINEERS' DEMANDS.

DOMINION" AWARD PROBABLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN. this day. The Dunedin branch of the Amalgamated Engineers were before the Conciliation Council to-day. A deadlock occurred over the first clause of the demands, making a week of 44 hours instead of 47 hours. The employers said t'.iey won- not disposed to concede anything in regard to any of the principal clauses, because to do so would prej;i----dii-p the employers in other centres where disputes liad also arisen. It would be better, they suggested, to refer tho dispute bodily to the Arbitration Court, in the hope of a Dominion award. I'nion delegates reluctantly consented, and llr Trigga formally agreed to the course proposed.
