EFFECT OF THE IMPOST. ißec-ived 10.10 a.m.! MELBOURNE, this day. The Federal Land Tax Commissioners' report shows that the tax in 1312-13 realised £1.31«,73-5. Large land sales continued during the year, totalling 14.950.U27, an increase of over a million. The Commissioner points out that while -vrsons owning lanrc taxable e-.fß.tes continue to sell, person:, lower in the taxable iield will continue to purchase freely, ■votwithstaading the tax.
