FRUITGROWING AT HENDERSON

A meeting of fruitgrowers was held on Thursday evening in the Public Hall at Henderson * -onsider the best means of furthering ■~ ntercsts of those engaged- in the fruitgrowing industry. The attendance, although representative, was only moderate, complaints being made of the inadequacy of the notice. Mr. Greenwood was voted to the chair. On the motion of Mr. Roberts it was resolved that an association, to be called the Henderson Fruitgrowers' Association, be formed, and the following office bearers were then elected for the year:—President, Mr. Greenwood-, secretary. Mr. Harre; committee, Messrs. Pickering. Robertson. Merz, Porters, Williams, Roberts, and Millojm. It was resolved that the secretary write for rules and regulations of similar societies, and submit them to a future meeting. A deputation consisting of the president and Messrs. Buseombe, Piatt, and Williams was appointed to wait on tbe railways traffic manager, with reference to various matters concerning the caTria.ge "and- delivery of fruit.
