He declares he never worked for him and was given the horse and cart to sol] by another man. Richard Thomas Williams, a settler at Werroons, disappeared in the middle of September. His body was found on j Thursday buried a few inches below the j surface of the soil close to his residence ! with the skull battered in. Odgera, who shot Mrs. Molyne.iux on October Rth, j worked for William?. Early in October i ihe sold a horse, cart, and rifle belonging i Ito Williams, and gave a receipt in the ' name of Williams. At the inquest conlerninsr the death of Mrs. Molyneaux, ! i Odser.s was committed for trial. The i j only new evidence was that Olivers, when : ! his jaw. which had been fractured, en- i I allied him to speak, told a constable in j the hospital: "I did not mean to hurt ■ I any of them. Molyneiiux is a coward at ' heart. I pushed her in front of mc and j the rifle went. oil. Only one shot was : fired. 1 took the rille because on a ' former occasion Molyneaux produced an old ?un to frighten mc. J did the damage ! to myself with n dynamite cap. and when the ants pot at mc fired the ritle to attract attention." Deceased's little ! i daughter, however, who hid in a wardI robe while the shooting was on. . i said she heard Od;ers come back, and stand beside her mother".- body, and say. ( •'Well.
