A BROKEN ANKLE.
NOT RESULT 01" STRIKE INCIDENT. Tn connection with the injury sustained by a -Irs. Puller in the vicinity of the Trades Hall on Wednesday afternoon, and her subsequent admission to the Auckland Hospital with a broken leg, it transpires that the mishap did not occur on the footpath, but in a residence near the corner of Hobson and Cook Streets. Mrs. Puller, when 6een thid morning, 6aid thut at the request of another woman she went into the house to assist in quieting the husband of the latter, who, _he wa.s informed, -was under the influence of liquor. The man is alleged to have struck ami kicked her on the ankle, thus causing th e injury referred to. Tt is probable that proceedings will be taken against the assailant in the PoP.ce Court. Mrs. Puller's statement makes it clear that she was not knocked down in the rush caused by mounted "specials" attempting to clear the roadway.
