The experience gained lias induced the Post Office to authorise 10 additional automatic telephone PXrhacges based on thp Lorimer nnd Strowpvr systems. The authorities coiir>irier tlte systems excellent fur ordinary cities, but doubt whether they would he applicable to the great London exchanges. Automatic working is economical only where the installations exceed 500 lines.
