Big preparations arc lieinpr made by Messrs Dalpety and Co. for shipping Australian wool to tlif , T'nitod States, the alteration in the tariff now admitting wool free. The previous duty was 10d. per pound. Tlio revision of the tariff opens up prospects of unlimited trade, particularly when the Panama rouue i* complete. Australian shippers are strongly advised to visit the I'niteii States", and make their own arrangements. Prices are likely to bes-ome high.
