MARCHESI DEAD.
FAMOUS SINGING MXSTKESS. (Received 1.35 p.m.) LONDON, November 18. The death occurred to-day of Madame Marchesi, the famous teacher of singing. For many years Mathilde Marchesi occupied an unassailable position as a teacher of singing, an eminence which has now descended to her daughter, Blanche Marchesi. She was born in Frankfort S7 years ago, and after a brilliant stage career began to teach others the are of voice production. Most of the world's most famous vocalists were under her care, her pupils including lima di Mureka, Etelker Gerster. Galli Marie, Emma Calve, Emma Earues, Emma Nevada, Melba, Sybil Sanderson, Ellen Gulbranson, and Ada Crossley.
