SHIPPING ON THE GREAT LAKES.
OTTAWA, November 18. The Government has promised an investigation into the Great Lakes disaster during the recent gale with the object of making navigation safer. Apparatus for oil-sprinkling, it is believed, would have greatly modified the losses.
