Mr. J. H. Upton left for Wellington by last night's express. The Rev. Fathers V. Peters., of Maitland, N.S.W.. and W. Ormond, of Auckland, have left for a. trip for the West Coast of the South Island. Mr. iR. W. Dyer, S.M., with 'Mrs. and Miss Dyer, who have been staying at Waibeke, have now taken up their quarters at the Star Hotel. _ Mr. R P. Greviße, of the Lands and Survey Department, has been appointed Inspector of Surveys. Auckland district, pvith headquarters at Hamilton.
