LEPERS IN INDIA.
,' (To the Editor.) i Sir, —In your article on "'The Unforlui nate Leper" in last night's "Star," there I is a serious mistake, which I shall be ■ grateful if you will allow mc to correct. i It is said there tha.t "in India lepers , are frequently shot or drowned, or > otherwise done away with." This is, ■ thank God, not the case. . Such a. thing ■ would be impossible under the British Government. The article also says that heredity is a disputed point. This is scarcely correct, as the consensus of opinion in the medical world- is that the disease can no longer be considered a hereditary one.—l a-m, etc., WELLESLEY C. BAILEY. Superintendent 'Mission to Lepers.
