" DRAUGHT HORSE SALES. SYDNEY, August 4. The annual draught horse sales took place to-day. Prices were very fair. Some imported Shire stallions sold, very cheaply. A bid of 360 guineas for Bramhope Pluto, a six-year-old imported Shire stallion, was refused. Shires sold at S"i guineas to 195 guineas, draughts from 21 guineas to 125 guineas, two on account of Mr. James i«ra-nt, of Hawera, bringing 36 guineas and '€3 guineas. On account of Mr. Samuel Wilson, of Rlccarton, Mains Laird was sold for IX> guineas. The top price was 450 guineas for the New Zealand-bred Craig Willie, aged two years -and six months. Tu e chairman stated that improvements to buildings and machinery now being installed and. the creamery erected at liaurakl Plains would cost £3,953. The Waihou factory now ranks as one of the most up-to-date in New Zealand. Of last season's butter, 1874 tons were sold in Vancouver, and realised I2Bd per lb at Auckland; 250 tons sent Home. 12Jd, f.0.b., at Auckland: ISOi tons sold locally at 11.754. The Waihou factory bal-ance-sheet was adopted. Messrs. T. Gavin and W. A, Taylor, retiring directors, were re-elected. Mr. G. Parker was re-elected auditor. It .was resolved that the remtmeration of tbe managing director be £100, and of other directors £10 per annum. A bonus of £25 was voted to the manager. The chairman stated that the Company bad purchased two acres of the Mathew Henry estate from the Government, and a contract had been let for creamery buUitngs.
