Mr. F. G. Dalziel, of Wellington, is in Auckland. He is staying at the Grand.

The death is anotnunced of Mr A. E. Mellsop, clerk of the Waipipi Road Board and valuer for the Waikato River Board.

Mr. .Tobn Feldwick, brother of thebaic Hon. Henry Feldwick, of Invercargill, died the-otherday in.London. Deceased was 65 years-of age.

M-r. T. iDix, a member of the Petone Municipal Band, who intends taking up his residence in Te Kuiti, was presented by his fellow bandsmen with a gold medal.

Mr. H. X. Hol-mes, formerly secretary for the V.M.C.A. in Wellington, has been appointed organiser for the association, in-South Africa for tic next two years.

The deauh isaannounced from the Wairarapa, of Mr. Robert Smith, of Onslow Park, Hamna, known throughout, -the district as ""KaMae" Smith. He was a noted athlete in this younger days, and for many years- no Caledonian- gathering in the district was- complete without his well-known figure. He was also prominent in pnblic life. Mr. Smith leaves a wife and six: sons, (Messrs. George, William, John and Gordon Smith, of Hanraa, Mr. Camp-bell Smith, of Martinborougii, and "Nirea"ha--Smith, of Tokomaru.
