A ONE-CLASS TRAIN.

SUBURBAN PASSENGERS' COMPLAINT. Some of the regular travellers by the early morning train from Papatoetoe feel ,that they are not being fairly treated by tbe Department in the proposal to provide only second-class accommodation on •that train. Holders of first-class season tickets are being advised that it is proposed to provide only second-class accommodation on this train (which arrives in Auckland -at 7.10 a.m.) from Ist November next. The feeling is that the proposed change is one for the worse, and is an undue interference wrth the expressed preference of a considerable section of the travelling public It is admitted that the train is known as a "workmen's train," but it is con-tended that, while regular patrons of it are prepared to pay fox first-class accommodation they should bo given that accommodation.
