SIX HOURS A DAY.
KEIR KARBIE'S IDEAL. LONDON, August 4. Addressing n meeting .last night in Wales, Mr. Keir Hardie (chairman of the Labour party in Parliament) said that after their continued effort to get an eight hours' day the miners must strike to obtain a six hours' day. The Durham Conciliation Board has raised miners' wages by three and a quarter per cent. NATIONALISING THE MINES. WHAT IT WOULD COST. (Received 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, August 4. Under the Nationalisation of Mines Bill, proposed by Mr. Stephen Walsh. Labour member for the Inee division of Lancashire, an expenditure of £135.----000,000 would be involved ia the purchase of existing interests.
