Addressing a gathering of the London Indian Association (formed to benefit Indian students) yesterday, 'Mr. Gokhale, a member of the Viceroy's Council, said the position lately in Great Britain had steadily grown more difficult. Indians were now treated barely with tolerance, and in a few cases with positive dislike. The main cause was the growing racial colour prejudice, due partly to the new school of Imperialism which regarded the world as being for tbe whites alone, and looked on other races as a footstool, i<nd partly to the greater sliare the selfgoverning Dominions were acquiring in shaping Imperial policy.
