CENTRE TRAM POLES.
(To tie Editor.) i Sir, —The Automobile Association is very insistent to have the poles removed j from tSie centre to the side of Queen Street. The privilege of motorin;,- in Queen Street carries with it the condition that only a slow speed is permitted, which enables the driver to have his car well in control. If this condition is observed, the existing position of the poles certainly offers no menace to safety. With careless or reckless driving in "a busy street, there will always be a danger of colliding with something. Last week a motor crashed into a business premises in Customs Street. Conld it be argued that such premises ought to be removed or pushed back?—l am, etc.. VIA.
