McLOUGBXIN BEATS DIXON.

LONDON, July 28.
America won the Davis Gup from England to-day, securing three out of the five matches played. The Americans were one up when play started to-day, having won one singles and the doubles to Britain's one singles. Dixon, captain of the English team, met McLoughlin in the first singles of the day, and suffered defeat in three straight sets, the scores being B—6,8 —6, 6—3, 6 2. The match was played in beautiful weather. Dixon Ferved with great judgment and handled JlcLoughlin's service well.
In the first set both volleyed magnificently, and it was a fine even game to six all.
McLoughlin then won the seventh after deuce, and Dixon gave him the set with a double fault at the finish of the eighth. McLoughlin's service in the second and third sets was practically unplayable. Although Dixon played gamely he was weakened by his exertions in the first set, and the American held the whiphand with his service, winning twelve games in the two sets to his opponent's five.
The Americans having now won the Cup, the final match between Parke and Williams became an exhibition.
Parke won a well-contested game, which went the full five sets, the score? being 6—2. 5 —7, 5 —7, 6— i, 6—2.. AUSTRALASIAN PROFIT. AN Ari-BOTJKD DISTRIBUTION. (Received 10.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. It is expected that the Australasian Tennis Association will receive alxmt £1,100 as its share of the profits of the Davis Cup and other matches in America. At the annual meeting of the association it was decided to adhere to the resolution to retain for the purposes of the association the profits of the British Isles' match. It was also decided th-it the balance of the profits of the British team's tour he divided equally among the Australian Ststcs and Xe-.v Zealand, approximately £s"> each.
