POLICEMAN RUNS AMOK.
SHOOTS SEVERAL PEOPLE.
BESIEGED IN A BRICKFIELD.
(Received 1.45 pjn.) LOSTDOX, July 2S. A policeman of Londonderry, Constable McCaraey, suddenly became insane to-day. He seized a rifle at the barracks and stationed himseli on the stairs.
He wounded two constables who attempted to disarm him. one dangerously, and then fled, half dressed, into the streets.
Here he wounded several civilians., and then took refuge in a brickfield.
Eighty police now surround the brickfield, where the madman is hiding. He is jvell supplied v.ua ammunition.
